Mr.'. J. Morgan, late of Kumeroa,: and now of Levin, has- a cow, the like: of which is not owned .by every dairy farmer.. /The animal iB seven years old, >ifc-wag-bred in Pahiatua, and won tho cup at the last Levin Show. The cow was .sis months in milkat the time the tests were taken.; No artificial food was used, the animal being grass fed. The first rank in American record prices for draught .stallions, the Chf- . cago "Breeders' Gazette" reports, was reached at the clearing sale by William Crownoveiy Judson, lowa. His Inmous champion show horse and sire, Farceur, sold'.to C. 6. Good, lowa, for £9500. This is the highest price over paid for a Belgian horse in the •United States,' exceeding the £8000 t partnership figure for W. The,matter came in for some discussion, and the following , motion was carried:—"That the attention of the National Efficiency Board be drawn to the fact; that while farmers are'not. allowed to sell wheat over Government price there is no restriction on, the retailer as to the profit he makes.''
