THE HAIDER An end has been put to the various rumours concerning the measures to be taken in connection wiik Japanese intervention in Siberia by an official statement in the Japanese Diet from the Foreign Minister (Baron Montono). Nothing lias yet been settled, and the whole question is still the matter of delicate negotiations. No major developments are reported from the Western front to-day.'ln Palestine, General Allenby, pursuing his energetic campaign against the Turks, has made a further advance. A big air raid, lias been made by the Germans on Paris, sixty 'planes facing tho anti-aircraft barrage in waves. The loss of life has been heavier than usual, but the enemy . did not'escapo Fcathless. A graphic story of the adventures of tho German sea raider Wolf in the Pacific appears in to-day's dispatches. It appears that the Union liner Niagara narrowly missed an encounter with the raider. Tho attack on the Wairuna is described in detail.
