ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
PARMER DROWNED. By TelccVanh.—l'rcfß Association. Wairoa, March 9. The police last evening received, information that Peter Jensen, a singlo man, aged 28 years, who was a fanner at Tutaekuri, was drowned at the Waiau crossing at 3 p.m. Deceased was formerly a. jeweller at Wairoa, and recently took up farming. He attempted to'cross the flooded river. His horse failed to effect a landing, and when re-crossing the horse died. The rider was swept away. His body has 'uoi yet been recovered. BODY FOUND IN HARBOUR. The body of a young man, Percy Ellison, who disappeared from Petono last Svnday night, was recovered from the 1/arbour on Saturday morning some distance south of the signal-box at the entrance to the Petone railway station. When deceased disappeared ho left a letter to the effect, that there were circumstances which made it doubtful if the threat contained therein would be carried out. A lad named Frederick Wilkinson, aged 12 years, fell off a balcony at Day's Bay on Saturday. He was taken to 'the Wellington Hospital, where he was found to have sustained a fractured left wrist.
