SINGLE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TO-DAY'S EVENT. Oil account of the growth in the number of clubs affiliated to the Wellington Centre, and therefore entitled to compete in tho Champion of Champion events this season, the games have had to be spread over two days. The first event will take place to-day at 2.30 p.m. on tho Hataitai green, when the singles representative of Hataitai will meet Seatoun's elect, and Kelburn will try conclusions with Te Hiwi's. . The games will he continued to-mor-row, commencing at 9 a.m. on the Hataitai green. The draw is as follows:— Newtown v. Otaki, Wellington v. Victoria, Thorndon v. Eastbourne, Island Bay plays Te Hiwi or Kelburn, Pctone playe Se'atoun or Hataitai, Upper' Hutt plays Lyall Bay, Johnsonvillo plays Khandallah, Lower Hutt plays Karori. Four or five rinks from the Wellington Club are to visit Carterton at the week-end to' try conclusion with tho local club. They will leave AVellington on Friday afternoon, reach Carterton tho same evening, play all day Saturday, see tho sights on Sunday, and return to'town at mid-day on Monday. A WAIRARAPA SHIELD CONTEST. At Martinborough, on Saturday, in a Wairarapa Shield contest, Featherston defeated the home rinks by the narrow margin of 2 points, after one of tho most remarkably close contests over known in the Wairarapa.
