RIFLE SHOOTING
OLD NAVALS CLUB.
The Old Naval Defence Rifle Club fired a handicap match on Saturday afternoon over ranges of 500 and 600 yards. . The conditions were .10 shots and a signtei at each distance. The competition was for a-'trophy- presented byMi.Ulj. Odlin. They also fired a sweepstake with the Karori Club, and the .Navals were successful in securing three prizes out ot four'allotted. The handicappers, president Babej.of the Navals and Eine. man Tinney, of the Karori C nb, were congratulated on their -handicapping, ivhioh resulted in two scratch men and two handicap men winning the tour prizes.' Petono and Suburbs Defence Sine Clubs fired a teams' match on the former club's rouge, "Waiwetu," on Saturday, at ranges 300, 500 and GOO yards. •The weather conditions were not good, light, and wn'd being troublesome, especially at 600 yards, where manyifalls occurred. The best shoot for the day was by J. T. Warbnrton, with 95, the next best being A. S. Ballinger and H. H Gawith each, with 92. C. B. Jenkins 91 J.'Smart 90. The match was won by.'
