MILITARY SERVICE

0 THIRD, WELLINGTON BOARD. The Third Wellington Military Service Board continued its sessions yesterday. Mr. D. M. Findlay presided, and with him were Messrs. M. J. Mack and A.'O'L. Considine. Lieutenant Anderson represented tho military authorities. Adjournments sine die were granted in the cases of the following reservists: Thomas Flanagan, Alan E. Hood, and Herbert Yearbury (prison warders), John Erskine, James Robinson, T. W. Trott, D. Riley. J. W. Bryant, M. Ladbury, J. Bollard, and H. P. Cave (seamen and firemen), Bert R. Raslibrook (ship's steward), Frank R. Sands (ship's cook). The cases of the following were adjourned for three months; William Miller (machinist, N.Z.R., Petone), Daniel D. G. Lynch (farmer, Parjparaumii), J. A. Chapman (Ngaio), Frederick Hill Porter (jobbing foreman), John T. Rogerson (freezing works manager, Longburn). Horbert L. iFawson (photographer. Cuba Street) was granted leave till March to enable him to dispose of his business. "The board reserved its decision in the case of Timothy J. Higgins (Details, Trenthani Camp)- Higgins claimed that he was not a reservist. He was in the Tonwiro wreck in 1916, lost all his belongings, and hnd to accept work ashore. "He said that he was a bona fide seaman. number of reservists who. should not have been called on so early were transferred to their proper classes.
