The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency 00., Ltd., report:—At EUetahuna on Friday we had a fair yarding of sheep. The market shewed an improvement rn the previous sale, and bidding was animated throughout. We made a total clearance aB followsß.P. rape lambs, 17s. to 17s. Sd.; small b.f. lambs, Bs. 6d. to 9s. 7d.; m.s. two-tooths, 27b. 6d.; forward aged ewes, 17s. to 18s.; cull owes, 9a. At Feilding, on Friday, a fair entry of. sheep and cattle was yarded. There was a decided improvement , : n the tone of the sheep market, and bidding wan animated, resulting in a Rood advance on last week's rates:—Small woolly lambs, 10s. 7d. to 10s. Ed.; medium woolly lambs, Ws. 5d.; medium two-tooth wethers, 265. 61 to 275. 6d.; four-tooth wethers, 30s. fid.; cull ewes, 9s. lOd.; good condition mixedage ewes, 275.; fat oweß, 295.; small wean, ers, 315.; store cows, £4 to £6; cows in calf, £6 15s. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report that they offered a fair yarding of cattle and a small yarding of sheep at their Upper Hutt yarJs on Thursday la6t. There was practically no demand for any but fat sheep, but tpringers, close to profit, and weaners .made good prices. They quote:—Fat ewes, 275. 6d.; light fat cows, £8 2s. to £9 10s,; two and a halfyear steers, £9; springing cows, £8 ss. to £10 10s.; springing heifers, £10 to £13; m.s. weaners, to £3. Three-year-old steers, in forward condition, from £13 to £14 155.; fat lambs, 17s. At their weekly sale at the Miller's Road yards, Dannevirke, on January 25, there was a good number of buyers present, and the prices Bhowed an improvement to previous saleß.
