OBITUARY
MASTER OF TRINITY, CAMBRIDGE. London, January 15. The Rev. Henry Montngue Butler, Master of Trinity College, Cambridge, is dead.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. [The lato Dr. Butler, who was over 81 years of age, was a son of Dr. George Butler, a former Headmaster of Harrow School. Ho was educated iit Harrow, and at Trinity College, Cambridge, of which he became a Fellow in 1855. After a distinguished university career and u short experience of political life us private secretary to the Right Hon. W. F. Cowner, be was appointed Headmaster of Harrow in 1859, retaining that position until 1885, when he was appointed Dean of Gloucester. In tho following year he was appointed of Trinity College. He was Select P/eacher at Oxford and Cambridge for many yews, and he published a number of historical, biographical, and devotional I work!.] ■'■< < ;r -
