By Telegraph-Press Association. Auckland, January 9. The annual conference of tholnstituto of Surveyors lias opened. Tho report stated that only half the surveyors in the Dominion were members of the Institute, and something was necessary to get all in. It had been suggested that the Government should charge a fee of two guineas as an annual licence, one guinea to go to the institute, giving every surveyor the right of membership. The following olhcers' wero elected:—President, Mr Hastings Bridge (Christohurcli); vicepresidents, Mr. P. Chambers (Auckland) and Mr. H. Sladden (Wellington); secretary, Mr. C. D. Morpeth. (Wellington); treasurer. Mr W C Smith (Wellington). " '
