SLIGHT JAR AT THE STATE MINES
TEMPORARY STOPPAGE OF WORK. By Telegraph—Press Association. Creymouth, January 9. There was a stop-work meeting at the State Mines yesterday, and the mines were idle yesterday and to-day. The trouble is that the management desired to start a portion of the men of the Rewamii Mine who were thrown idle through the recent big slip at No. I mine. The men asked that all should be employed by putting on two or three shifts. At latest advices the trouble has been settled, and work will be resumed to-morrow.
