HOMES FOR RETURNED SOLDIERS
STATEMENT' BY THE PRIME MINISTER. In reply to an inquiry from the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association as to the opportunities offered to returned men to acquire their own homes, tho general secretary of tho New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association has' received a statement from the Prime Minister to the effect iliafc land may be . acquired suitable for sites for residences, and that bouses may bo erected thereon and disposed of to cisx. charged soldiers on very favourable terms, similar to those provided for workers' dwellings. The Prime Minister intimated that the necessary conditions were under oou- - sideration, and it was expected that ;. the scheme could be put shortly into operation.
