Tho Anchor Company's Alexander rill sail at 5 p.m. to-day for Nelson, West port, and Greyniouth. Cargo for Dunedin -will be received by the Kakapo, sailing direct to-night. A shortage of wharf labour prevented the Tainui from Bailing on Monday for Tima.ru and Oamaru, and ehe will sail to-day. From the southern ports sho will go to Wanganui direct. The Defender arrived parly yesterday morning from Hokitika, and berthed at No. 13 Queen's Wharf to discharge a Enroll quantity of 'general cargo and wool. She will afterwards go to Clyde Quay Wharf to put. out her timber, and ■will eail for Hokitika. As them is a farcitv of lahonr on the waterfront at New Plymouth, it -will be Friday before the Corinna will return to Wellington.
