GUATEMALA DESTROYED
MANY PEOPLE KILLED.i New York, December 31. A. terrific earthquake on SsrfcTay, following earlier shocks, completely destroyed the city of Guatemahx. Many people have been killed, and 125,000 have been rendered homeless. Deep fissures have opened in the middle- of the city. Theatres, asylums, and gaols collapsed, many of the inmates being killed or injured. An indescribable panic prevails. The final shock literally wiped out the city.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
