FINE WEATHER PREVAILS SECTION PLAY ENDED The Wellington. Bowling Centre's ninth annual tournament was advanced another stage on Saturday, when, owing to fine bowling weather—alternating sun and shade—the execuu'e was able to get off three games, making up the full eight rounds program-nod. The rain which fell on Friday all ernoon and night made most of the greens rather sodden, wtiich was nor the worst thing that could happen under tho circumstances, as heavy greens make for fast piny. In most cases the greons were rolled during lunch hour, and in the afternoon .some excellent play resulted on several 01 the greens. Tho winners of the aggregate piize (the rose bowl, to be hold for a jear) for the greatest number of points, turned up in the team skipped by Beynon (of Petone), whose rink scored 232 points. the run-ner-up with 220.
