BOWLS TOURNEY
MORE GLOOMY WEATHER SECOND DAY'S PLAY Dull weather, which • developed into a light boat rain at intervals during the afternoon, prevailed yesterday, when the second day's play of the WelSugton Bowling Centre's tournament took place on the local greens. The conditions did not make for the best bowling, as the greens were still on tho heavy side, and now and again during tho afternoon the few spots of rainthat sprinkled tho greens made the going a little stift'or than would otherwise have been tho ense. So far thero has been little opportunity for tho finest play, and the outlook hardly favours the hope that the greens will acquire that keenness which makes for the nicest play. Perhaps Buch conditions mil obtain for tho finals next, week. Ties in sections , will count as winners of sections in the draw for Monday's play. It is hoped that the final gamo will be played on the afternoon of Tuesday next (New Year's Day). Tho results of yesterday's play are as follow:—
