RETAIL PRICES IN NEW ZEALAND
NOVEMBER INCREASES. The tables published hy_ the Government Statistician, showing war increases in retail prices for November, indicate that for the Dominion as a whole there has been a trifling advance as compared with October. The percentage increases for the war period in the four chief cities are as follow (a comparison with November, 1916, bein" given in parentheses^: — Groceries: Auckland. 30.87 (24.88); Wellington, 86.69 (27.59); Christchurch, 21.80 (20.66); Dunedin, 22.33 (23.87). - Dairy Produce: Auckland, 33.93 (28.08); Wellington 20.81 (12.90); C'lrHcbiivM.. 10.02 (24.32); Dunedin, 28.37 (16.(55). Meat: Auckland, 27.82 (13.91); Wellington. 33.30 (18.72 V, Christchnreh, 41.78 (28,60): Dunedin. 42.80 (25.95). Three Food Groups: Auckland. 30.28 (21.28); Wellington. 31.49 (20.87); rhn'stohnreh, 28.31 (24.21); Dunedin, 30.90 (22.94).
