SERIES OF MOTOR-CAR FATALITIES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Core,, December 26. Robert T. Coomer, aged 73, a wellknown retired farmer and dredgemastcr, was knocked down by a motor-car driven l>v a boy named Percy Shave in Broughton Street, Gore, on Saturday afternoon. His spinal column was fractured and dislocated. He died on Monday night. An inquest was opened yesterday and adjourned till Saturday" night. KILLED BY A TAXI. Napier, December 26. , Lynda Maude Mitchell, aged six, a daughter of U. T. Mitchell, railway guard, died of injuries received by being knocked down by a 1 taxi driven by R, K. Stock in Carlyle Street. Tho child was running across the road when the accident occurred. The inquest was adjourned after medical evidence had been taken. A PECTLIARACCIDENT. Napier, December 26. A peculiar accident is reported from Waiwhenua Station. David Sunmali Gordon, aged 48. while climbing on to a motor lorrv, slipped and fell on the back of his head, breaking bis neck. It is believed that deceased had no relatives in the Dominion. MOTORING FATALITY. Cambridge, December 26. A motor-car accident occurred at Tauwhare, near Cambridge, at midday vesterdav. A car capsized, and a boy named Willis, 10 years of age, had Jus head crushed, and died tho same night. Miss Nellie Jones was badly cut about tho face, and R. Bradv received cuts and a severe, shock. Two other occupants of the car were uninjured. FARMER. COMMITS SUICIDE. Inveroarglll, December 26. "Windermere Burdon, aged 37, a_ farmer at Ryal Bush, committed suicide on Christmas Eve by cutting his throat. He leaves a widow and family.
