BROOKLYN METHODIST CHURCH

The opening of the new Sunday school premises providing for the primary departments took place on Sunday afternoon last. A service in the church was conducted by the minister (the Rev. John H. White,), who congratulated all present .on the completion of what had been long needed and prayed for, expressed his gratitudo for the liberality of the congregation which had been manifested iu tho effort, and expressed the hope that tho costs of building and furnishing (over £600) would be very soon fully met. ■ Tho superintendent of the school (Mr. R. Thomas) pointed out how essential the new provision had been. He referred to the'help given by Taranaki Street in grateful terms, and hoped that further kind contributors would be forthcoming that there might soon be no debt remaining. Tho children of the primary departments then proceeded to the new building, tho congregation following, and with evident pleasure they saw tho scholar.! at work. Tho interior arrangements were much admired. The corridor ample and roomy and at one end a kitchen, furnished with every provision for social functions nni tea meetings.
