SALES OF CERTIFICATES TOTAL £2,873,271 HOW THE DISTRICTS SUBSCRIBED By Telegraph-Press Association. Ohristohurch, December 25. In an interview with representation of the Prese on Christmas Evo, Sir Joseph Ward gave some interesting particulars in regard to tho sales or War Loan certificates in the Dominion. "Tho total sales up to December lo have been £2,873,271 85.," lie said. "In the seventeen Postal districts into , which the Dominion izi divided, tho largest amount per capita—viz. £3 19s. 3d.—was subscribed in the Blenheim district. The next largest amouut per capita-viz., £3 19s. ld.-and tho largest total amount—viz., £046 400 38.—were subscribed in tho Wellington Postal district. "The amount subscribed in New Zealand for war purposes by the purchaso of War Loan certificates compares very favourably with tho amount subscribed in this way in the Australian States. According to a Press, report tho Bales in the Australian States up to November 3 totalled £2,719,474 % which is less than tho total for tho Dominion to December , . 15. viz £2,873,271, nnd the salee per capita wero very much lower."
