WIRAMAR AFFAIRS
MEETING OF THE COUNCIL.
Tho Miramar Borough Council met. last ovening. Thoro were present: the Mayor (Mr. F. Townsend, Councillors S. fl; Underwood. H. Hawthorn,' W. H. Green, j. Pollock, and H. K. !Robortsha.w. .. •A letter was received froni tho headmaster of the Worsor Bay School, asking for special facilities to be granted to school children attending technical classes in tho city. The council decided to carry tho children freo on one day per week, subject to certain conditions. The. National Efficiency Board wrote that it had made a recommendation to the Recruiting Board relative to the exemption from military service of lira brigadesmen who were in tho Second Division. The solicitor to the Municipal Association advised the council that it had power to erect buildings on any road reserve, provided traffis was not interfered with, nor access to private prpr perty cut off. The ppunci! granted the use of (3eatflur Park to various bodies for three of the Christinas holidays. Accounts amounting to £678 were passed for payment.
