HIGH COMMISSIONER'S MARKET REPORT
i The Department of Agriculture, Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated London, j December 15, from the High Commis- : sioner for New Zealand. (Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot) :—• Meat.—All descriptions of meat continue in active demand, selling at maximum prices owing to continued small supplies. New Zealand 1 frozen meat, no supplies available; Argentine mutton and lamb, small supplies, lljd. Argentine beef is in. small supply: Chilled hinds, Iljd-;. fores, 9Jd. . Butter.—Market remains as last reported. Danish, Irish Creamery, and Dutch, no supplies available; French, a limited supply at 2565. Bd.; all others under Government control at 2525. Inclusion French in Government pool is 'anticipated shortly. Cheese.—ls in (.mail supply. English Cheddar, 1425.; all others at Government price. Hemp.—Manila and New Zealand: ■Little business doing, market continues firm. Manila stocks at end of November, 17,080 bales, against 58,656 last year. Wheat.—No business doing owing to scarcity of offers. Oatsi—sJsft6t is very quiet, prices are unchanged.
