HINDENBURG'S SCHEME
CRUSH THE ALLIES AND FORCE PEACE HEAVY CONCENTRATIONS ON THE WEST . KALEDIN ALARMS • • BOLSHEVIKI - COSSACK LEADER MUSTERING HIS STRENGTH As a reflection of their recent advance in Italy, the armistice .with Russia, and the counter-blow in the West, the Germans are raffling their swords again and talking about forcing a peace at Paris. They have offered peace terms to the Bolsheviki, whioh, the latter realise, are humiliating and impossible. <To multiply their per- . plenties, General Kaledin is beginning to apply his pressure in an unmistakeable way, and the Bolshevik Government has been forced to detach troops, to counter the Cossack forces. The fighting on the Italian front is still severe, but the intensity of the attaoks appears to have moderated, while the Italian gunners and airmen have been active in their operation against the enemy. The Franco-British troops on the, Italian front have taken over an important sector.
