The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—At Foilding on Friday we tiad a heavy yarding of cattlo and a good entry of sheep. Competition for oattle was very slack and most lines submitted wero passed at auction, and the bulk of tho yarding went out unsold. The sh'eep market also lacked auimation, excepting for good lines. Wo quote: 2-tooth wothers (good), 295. 9d.; woolly hoggets, 3.35. 9d.; ewe 3 with lamba at foot, 375. 7d.; 15-month heifer (sood) £6 7s. 6d. to £6 10b.; small cows with calves £6 6s, to £8; good cowa with calves at foot £12 155.; fresh cows, £7 18s. 6d. to £9; fat cowe £11 6s. to £11 155., and £12 6s. to £12 10s. The following prices were realised:—Shorn 2-tooth wethers, 275. 6d.; woolly Z-tooth, 325. 3d., 365. 6d.; aged ewes and lambs, 375.; fat woolly sheep, £2 Is. 4d.; mixed weaners, 305., 355., 405., 425. 6d., 455., to £2 155.; 3year steers, £11 55.; 18-month steers, £7 Is. to £8; fat cows, £11 10s., £11 17fl. 6d., £12 12s. 6d.; store cows and calves, £8 10s., £9; store cows, £6 17s. 6d. to £8 Is.; yearling steers (small), £4 17s. 6d.; bulls, £10 10s., £11 103. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, US., re port:—At I'almerston North sale on Thursday an average yarding of sheep and cattle came forward and practically everything was disposed of before leaving the yards. There was a good demand for cattle and prices showed an improvement, especially for fats, no doubt owing to the worke' buyers operating. Sheep also sold fairly well. Following were the prices realised .—Plain fat cows, £14; light fat cows, £12 Us. 6d.; fat and forward cowe, £11 11s,; fresh conditioned cows, £8 17s. 6d. to £9105.; store cows. £7 2s. 6d. to £8 10s.; aged cnll cokb, £5 15b.; springing dairy cows (good), £13 to £15; 2J-year springing heifers, £8 to £10 125..6 d.; forward empty heifers, £9; ,cnll heifers and calves, £6 Is.; 2-year heiferß, £6 5b.; 2-year steers, £12; 15-month heifers, £4 7s. 6d. to jlj 7s. 6d.; ■ 15-month. Jersey steers, £5 55.; small yearling heifers. £3 135.; coloured mixed weaners (poor), 305.; f.m. ewes and lambs, 355. to 405.; 4 and 6-tooth shorn wethers (small), 275. 9d.; aged shorn ewes, 225. lid.; small woolly hoggets, 285.; shorn blackface mixed 2-tooths (small), 24a. 9d. At Feilding on Friday cattle came forward in large numbers, there being also an average yarding of sheep. Thero was a largo attendance, grown steers and bullocks were on the whole neglected; cows and young stock sold fairly well. Sheep were rather slack.
