IRELAND AND BRITISH ELECTORAL REFORMS
HEATED DEBATE IN HOUSE OF ' ' COMMONS. London, December 7. In the House of Commons there was a heated debate on the Government's proposal to include'lreland in the Redistribution of seats clause of the Representation of the People's Bill. The Nationalist members alleged that tha Government was wrecking the Irish Convention. v Finally Mr. John Redmond appealed to the Government to : withdraw the present proposal and introduce a measure to he agreed upon, as the Nationalists were prepared to give Ulster a fair'share of representation/ Mr. Bonar Law replied that the Government was willing that a committee, consisting of two Nationalists and two Ulstermen, under the chairmanship of the Speaker, should prepare a redistribution scheme if the Nationalists would allow the Bill containing the scheme to pass Mr. Redmond agreed to this.—Aus.N.Z.
