• DISOBEDIENCE AND DESERTION. Cfcnip Orders issued at Trentham during the week-end contain the findings of District Court-martial hold recently. Tho following have been sentenced to imprisonment tor two years with hard labour for disobeying a lawful command) given by a superior officer:— 62,|790 Pto. J. R. Olley, Trentham Details. 71,071 Pte. Macßae, Trentham Details, without hard labour. 65,909 Pto. 6. S. Carter, Trentham Details Hate Thirty-second Reinforcements), found guilty, when on active service, oS deserting His Majesty s Service, was sentenced to imprisonment with hard' labour for two years. The sentenco is mitigated so that if the accused embarks -for active service outside of Nttor Zealand before the expiration of Ms eentence, then upon arrival at tlte overseas base of the unit to -wfcich he is attached, the unexpired pwrtion of hie sentence (it any) shall bte remitted and his recordsshall be endorsed accordingly. 64,542 Pfefc H. W. Lyman, Details (late Thirty-second Reinforcements), and 62,981 ~E\e. D. K. Houston, Trentham Detadls (lato Thirty-first ReinforcementsV found guilty of desertion, were Mtenced to imprisonment with hard labour for six months, similar provision »S< in Carter's case being made as to tlw remission of the sentence in tho o'rient of accused embarking on active atirvico.
