HOLIDAY ARRANGEMENTS. EAST COAST AND PERRY SERVICES. Tho Union Company advise that the following axramjements haio been made in connection with tho Duncdin-East CoastAuckland and the Lytic! ton-Wellington eorvico during the Christinas and New Year holidays:—

East Coast Service.—Tho Monowai will leave Auckland on Tuesday, December 18, for (lisborne. Napier, and Wellington, learing this port on Friday, December 21, for Lyttelton an a special transport for troops on Christmas leave. Tho vessel will not carry any ordinary passengers on tfiat trip, and will not. go on to Dunedin. The Monowai will assißt in tho Lyttelton-Wcl-llngton ferry service during the mas and New Tear holidays, and will afterwards take up her ordinary running in the Hast Coast service.

.A cargo eteamer will leave Dunedin about Monday, December 24, for Lyltelton, Wellington and Auckland, taking general cargo for those ports. This vessel will return from Auckland to Lyttelton and Wellington.

Lyttelton-Wellington Servico.-On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from December 15 to January 12 inclusive, the Maori will wait the arrival at Lyttelton of the second express from Dunoflin. The Mararoa will loavo Lyttelton every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday as usual after the arrival of the ftrat express from Dnnedin (5.20 : p.m. train from Christchurch).

Yesterday tho Corinna. was to have left, New Plymouth for Picton, where she will load chad for Onehunga. From the Manukau port she is due at Wellington on Wednesday, via New Plymouth, and will sail in tho evening for southern ports.

It will be to-night or to-morrow morning before the collier Koraata arrives from Westport, where she has been delayed. En route from southern , "ports to Wanrranui. the Canterbury Company"s Calm wul call at Wellington and sail again on Tuesday. The timber-carrier Defender is duo from Hokitika on Sunday. On Ifondny tho Blenheim will leave Wellington at 8 p.m. for Havelock and Pelorue Sound. The tTnion Oompanys Kamo sailed la6t night for Qreymouth to load coal for Wellington-. A few days ago it was stated that the manlfoet of the steamer Rakaia,, dated 1889, had been pioked up on tho beach at Port Bobinaon. Another similar find, equally strange, haa been mado at Kaikoura, where a lady picked up tho manifest of the Duko of Westmineter, dated 1886. What makes it all tho more remarkable (says the "Cheviot News") in the fact it must bo nearly twenty years since steamers of the Ducal Line ceased trading to New Zealand.
