MR-RYAN, OF QUEENSLAND, IN COURT.' (Reo. December 4, 5.5 p.m.) Brisbane, December 4. In the Summons Court, under the iWar Precautions Act, the State Premier (Mr. Ryan) was charged with verbally making a false statemont likely to affect the judgment of the elecIfcors. ,11 Counsel for the dofendant asked for a dismissal of tho information on the grounds that -the regulations on which the charge was based were ultra vires,' as they were not within tho scope of tho War Precautions Act; also 'that the regulations wero contrary to the law of the Commonwealth. The statement on which the chargo is based referred to the_ number of Australian reinforcements in England. The case is not finished.—Press Association. .
