MAGISTRATE'S COURT

/Mr. S. E. M'Carthy, S.M., presided in.the Magistrate's Court yesterday. For ship desertion Charles Smith and Robert Suelford, seamen, tvoro each sentenced to one month's . imprisonment. ' An application by ; Agnes Kobertson for the cancellation of a msiintenance order was refused. For breaches of maintenance orders Frederick V. Edwards ami Albert Nicholson were each sentenced to six months' hard labour. Archibald Hunter was sentenced to one month's imprisonment on a charge of being idle and disorderly. Similarly charged, William Irwin Black was sentenced to three months' imprisonment and then to undergo three years' reformative detention; George Bason was sentenced to three montlis' imprisonment; and Eric Balfour Young to one month's imprisonment.
