At tlio meeting of tlio Akaroa County Council, Mr. George Armstrong referred to the fact that there had been no acknowledgment from' the Electoral Boundary Commissioners of a petition forwarded ■by lillcsmero electors resident in Iho Akaroa County. Very stron'g««rcprcscntations had hceu made protesting against tlio proposed inclusion in tlio LytWlton olccfTiriUe of the district named. Several of those present maintained that still another effort should ho made to attain the object of Iho petition, ami the following resolution \ras carried:—"That si committee bo appointed to obtain legal opinion as to the advisability of scciirinc; through the Supremo Court a, mandamus compelling the commissioners to give effect to the wishes of the petitioners."
