KING TO BE ASKED TO SANCTION THE ISSUE. (Bee. November 29, 8.10 p.m.) London, November 28. Tho War Office has agreed to adviso the Kiug to sanction the issuo of tho special Gnllipoli riband and star which tho Commonwealth and Dominion Governments propose for all members of tho 1914 contingents of Australians and New Zealanders. Two conditions aro necessary to qualify: Firstly tho claimant must have sailed before the end of 1914; and, secondly, subsequently participated in tho Gallipoli campaign. The War Office explains that it is necessary that Australia and Now Zealand should submit an agrecd-upon designfor tho star, to bo approved by tho King, whoso prerogative governs decorations.— Aus.-N.Z.
