A moeting of the tea committee in connection with the Sports Day effort on Saturday was held in the Concert Chamber of the Town fllfll yesterday afternoon. Mrs. J. P. Luke (Mayoress) presided. Arrangements in regard to the refreshments, for which a large marquee will bo provided in the Basin Reserve, were discussed, and from the reports handed in they appnared to be progressing satisfactorily. Thero will be an ice cream nnd cold drinks stall connected with the marquee, and given a fine day it is anticipated that very satisfactory results should be realised, for the benefit of the the Soldiers' Christmas Gift Fund. Contributions of cakes, scones, sandwiches, etc., will be very gladly received by j the committee, of which the executive comprises the following ladies: Mrs. Luko (president), Miss Clarke, Miss Bock, Mrs. C. G. Wilson, Mrs. Partridge, Mrs. H. M'Gregor, and Mrs. Barltrop (secretary).
