Miss Ewart has returned to Wellington from a visit to the south.
At St. Peter's Church, Wellington, on November 28, the marriage was solemnised by the Rev. F. M. Kempthornc, of Lieutenant Kenneth ,G. Chamberlain, N.Z.R.8., of Wellington, son of Mr. aud Mrs: W. Chamberlain, of Woodvillo, Hawke's Bay, and Miss Ivy Bagshaw Kuhnel, eldest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs. W. Kuhnel, of Adelaide, South Australia. The bride was attended by Miss Esther Fisher, and Lieutenant B. W. Millier was best man.
The cricketers' stall for "Sports Day" (for tho benefit of the Citizens' Christmas! Gift Fund) is to be stationed at Kelburn \ Avenue, _ and cakes, sweets, flowers, and articles of a miscellaneous description will be sold. Tho co-operation of all cricketers is asked, and Mrs. Cox hopes to meet support in tho effort. All contributions may be left on Thursday at 27a Panama Street, In connection with this stall two competitions have been arranged, one for girls under sixteen, who are asked to Bend in their sponge cakes, and another, for iced sponge cakes with fancy filling, for everyone over sixteen. The.prizes are to be crepe de chine blouses, and the winners will be able to make their choice from several offered for inspection. Entry forms may be/obtained at Armit's.
On Saturday afternoon a garden party organised by the Main Road residents of Lower Hutt, in aid of their Red Cross Shop day on December 7, was held at the residence of Mrs. George Pearce. Various, attractions had been arranged for the afternoon, including croquet competitions, fortunetelling, etc., and as the weather was all that could have been desired, !>. very pleasant and profitable afternoon resulted. Several visitors were present from Wellington, and members of the committee assisted in regard to stalls, competitions, afternoon tea, etc. Among the articles wlu'ch had been given for competition were a leather lunch-bag, a bos of tea, and other usefull things. \

Miss Gladys Campbell wishes to thank everyone who assisted her in the revived production of "The Magic Carpet" on Saturday night in the Grand Opera House, especially Mr. Paul Latham and 'Mr. Hardwicke, who gave invaluable help both on this occasion and on the former nights when <he play was first put before Wellington audiences.
