CLAIM FOR DAMAGES.

Tho Chief Justice and a jury of twelve concluded tho hearing of the caso in which Alexander Robertson, of Levin, claimed from the Crown £501, damages for injuries she received in a collision botween a motor-ojcle nnd side-car driven by her husband and a motor lorry belonging to tho Post and Telegraph Department. Mr. P. J. O'Began appeared for tho plaintiff, and Mr. P. S. K. Macassoy for the Crown. The jury returned a verdict that neither party was guilty of negligence. His Honour said that the finding amounted to a verdict for the Crown, and he entered judgment accordingly. SPEED OF MOTOR TRAFFIC. _ His Honour Mr. Justice Chapman, in the afternoon, heard simultaneously two cases brought to test the validity of the by-laws limiting tho speed of motor trafßo in Petone and Greytown to twelve miles per hour. The parties interested were: The Wellington' Automobile Association (Mr. M. Myers), the Wairarapa Automobile Association (Mr. T. ■ Maunsoll), tho Greytown Borough Council (Mr. T. F. Martin), and the Petone Borough Council (Mr. Kirk). His Honour, after hearing argument that lasted through the afternoon, reserved his'decision.
