MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Mr. S. E.' M'Cartliy, S.M., presided at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday. > Robert' Dickson -Warden was charged with breaking and entering the dwelling of Peter Levy, 18 Farm Koad,-Northland, and 'stealing therefrom certain of- jewellery, valued at .€2O. .Ho was further charged with breaking and entering'the'dwelling of William Liddie, 2Herald Street, Berhampore, and stealing therefrom jewellery and money to the value in all of i! 53.' On the application of Chief-Detective Boddam he was remanded for a'week. ■ • •• For insobriety,'' Alexander Waters, against whom there were previous convictions,. was fined <£3, in default_ seven days' ■ imprisonment Three first offenders were oach .fined. 10s., with the. option ot serving 21 hours in gaol.
