-Directions as to treatment for intestinal worm (Strengths contortis) in sheep were recently givpn by the assistant sheep and wool expert; of the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Stock. The sheep should be drenched with a mixture consisting: of 2oz. arsenic (98 per cent.), 61b. of Epsom salts, and 5 gallons of water. This mixture should be boiled for at least three-quarters of an hour. r The doses should be:—Grown sheep, s 20z.; two-tooth sheep, ljoz.; weaners, loz. The sheep should be ipenned up at least fifteen hours before being drenched, and should be kept in the yard at least four hours after drenching. If an ovner I suspeots tliAt his sheep are affected with 'worms, ho can easily ascertain their pre-/ ' sence.-, If the 'eyelid is lifted up and no veins show, or if the veins are very dark, worms are present. Another test ,is to open up the wool, and if the skin is found to be a dull or whitish cdour, an owner had better drench right a-.vay. Tat sheop nro more liable to be Attacked than others. 'limes aro too keen for cheese factory managers, to make use of any but the most efficient methods. No cheese vat carries off the whey so quickly and thoroughly as the "Victor"—the vat with sloping bottom and middlo drainage. Order oarly—steel is short. A. J.
