Over 100 horses, of mostly good quality, were catalogued, and good sorts met with a ready sale., One consign--ment, on account, of Mr. R. D. Shaw, Timaru, medium draughts. £29 to £33 10s.; lighter sorts, £26 to £28 10s., and milk-cart and espress homes, £19 to £22 10s. On account of Mr. Alex. Rutledge, unbroken half-draughts, £17 to" £25. On account of Mr. A. T. Box, medium .draughts sold up to £30. A consignment of ponies on account of Messrs. Tonka Bros., Hawera, brought from -£7 to £10, and a pony stallion £16. On account or other vendors, medium quality draughts brought from £26 to £30; half-draughts and express horses, £14 to £20 10s.; hacks and ponies, £6 to £12; weeds, £1 10b. to £4. Bidding was slightly easier for young cattle, other lines selling at late rates. We ouitted the whole of our entry with the exception of three pens. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report having held their fortnightly sale at Marton on Monday, when a pood entry of sheep and a fair yardinjr of cattle came to hand, which sold as below: flheop—Small mixed hoggets, 275. 6rt.; empty shorn ewes, 20s. 6d.; empty woolly ewes, 255. Id. j forward shorn ewes, 275. lOd.: fat shorn ewes, 31s. 2d.; 4-tooth,shorn weth. ers, 325.; 4 and 6-tooth'fat wethers, 455.
