HIGH COMMISSIONER'S MARKET REPORT
The Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce hRs received the following cablegram, dated November 8, from the High Commissioner. (Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot) :— Meat.—The following maximum wholesale meat prices have beon fixed from beginning of November :-Home-lcilled beef, 12d.; imported hinds, Hid.; fores, 'M.; home-killed mutton and lamb, 13d.; imported, Hid. No frozen meat Tiaa been released during this week. No quotation* this week, with the exception ot New Zealand South Island lamb, llld., from provious releases,' Argentiue mutton, li;d.; Argentine lamb, Hid.; Argentine chilled beef, hinds Hid., fores, DJd. Gutter.—ln active demand owing to short supplies. No official quotations, with tae exception of Paris, 2565. Bd.; Argentine, 2205.; unsalted, 2235. JNcw Zealand stocks are exhausted. (Jheose.— Market continues hrin, all at Government prices. Hemp—Manila market shows no change. New Zealand market practically cleared, business dull for forward shipment on account of freight diihcully. Spot and near-at-hand hemp in active demand at Government prices. Wheat.— Government otterings are very silia.ll. Market quiet at official quotations. . „ Oats—Market steady and prices well inaintuiuod.
