Mesdames W. Barton, W. Toogood, and B. Speedy, were the hostesses at the Anzac Club on Frida.y night, writes our Featherslon correspondent, when a largo number of soldiers were enterlaiued. Music for the danco programme was provided by the military band,_ and extras were played by Mesdnnics_ Wickens and Hotop, Misses Toogood, Kilmartin, and Bish. Mr. F. Brabant was M.C.
An address on the subject "The Scandal of War Profits" was delivered by Mr. H. Holland in the King's Theatre last night. Mr. Holland sought to show that the Government, instead of considering tho interests of the consuming public, "had conserved Iho interests of tho "food profiteers," with tho result that they had made enormous war profits. Willi the aid of lantern slides he invilcd his audience to examine Ihe. profits made on locally consumed and on exported food.
