TheiLegislative Council met yesterday {at 10.30 a.m. appropriation bill. The Appropriation Bill was receiTed 'tfrom the Houso of Representatives and .passed through' all its stages without debate. . The Council then adjourned w.hile the [Bill received the assent of the Govcrnortteeraj. FINAL PROCEEDINGS, , SIR FRANCIS BELL, Leader of the thanked members for the. support and assistance. they had given him 'during the session. He said that the (session bad been a strenuous one, and ; ihad been marked by. some ■ sorrowtul [events, 'including the illuess of tfie Speaker (Hon. C. J. Johnston) the '•deaths on active., service of sons ot-tiie Speaker, the Acting-Speaker (Hon.. \\. V. F. Carncross) and othor members ot •Tae Council, and the deaths of the Hon. jj. D. Ormond and tho Hon. W. Beelian. iHe hoped that when members met. again (they would be able to devote the whole (of their attention,to the affairs of New {Zealand, instead of as. during tho .last (three years dealing largely ' with 11 o al(fairs of Empire.
