JOURNALISTS' INSTITUTE

The annual meeting of the Wellington branch of the A'ew Zealand Institute of •Journalists was held on Tuesday, Mr W J. Guerin presiding. The election of officers resulted us follows:—Cliaimian, f r - W. J. Guerin; lion, secretary, Mr. J. If. Smith; hon. treasurer, Mr. W I'reeman; committee, Messrs. W. Phinns (Dominion), S. G. Baker ("Times"), F. J. Marshall, E. M. Muir, ]?. K. Heevcs, H. Hardcastle ("Post"), W. Michael (Dominion), P. J. Earlo ("Post") F If Morgan (Proas Association), and P. Galvin (representing country journalists); auditor, Mr. 11. Hardcastle; delegates to council, Messrs. F. K. Beeves and S. G Baker.

Tho annual meeting; of the Council of the Institute was then held. Mr. Gueriu was re-elected president, and Messrs. F J. Earlo (re-elected), and W. J. Penn (New Plymouth), vice-presidents. The other officers of the Wellington branch were re-elected officials of the council.
