GERMAN REPLY TO NEUTRAL PROTESTS
(Rec. October 20, 6.15 p.m.) Amsterdam, October 25. Replying to neutral protests against the sinking of Scandinavian ships in the North Sea raid, a German official statement asserts that the vessels were themselves to blame, as they were bailing under convoy and attempting to escape. Anyhow, they were navigating the barred zone, in spite of the warning >;iven last February. The statement attempts to dony the shelling of the N.Z. Cable Assn.
