THE WAR BEHIND THE LINES
GERMAN PROPAGANDA
LIES ABOUT TEE ALLIES' LOSSES. Washington, October 25. Senator Saulsbu'ry has denounced proGerman propagandists who are circulating baseless stories about huge Allied losses, in an attempt to discourage tho sending of troops abroad, The casualty figures, he says, have been deliberately falsified. The truth'is that the percentage of losses has never been smaller. The propagandists are attempting to prove that the German military organisation comprises "masterful supermen," and that it is hopeless to carry on the fight against them. The Senator urges the Government lo suppress suoh publications. "The very foundation of militarism in Germany is rocking, and its effective resistance will soon bo broken. It needs only the further awakening of the German people to cause, it to collapse."— Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn. THE TRAIL OF BOLO . FRENCH NEWSPAPER PROPRIETOR ARRESTED. London, October ,25. 11.
