POST AND TELEGRAPH OFFICERS

• ■.. ■■ -—— *—■ . .DESIRE REVISION OP SALARY . . SCALES. By Telegraph—Press Association. Nelson, October 26. At a meeting of the Nelson Post and Telegraph Officers' Association to-night the following resolution was adopted: "This section of the New Zealand Post and Telegraph Officers' Association again stresses the urgent necessity for ■a radical revision of the classified salary scales in vogue in tho Department, and calls public attention to the fact that a competent Post and Telegraph male employee only reaches the minimum wage of £3 per week (established by the Arbitration Court), after eleven to twelve years' continuous and efficient service, "while a female employee has but the slenderest prospect of ever reaching that salary point."
