REV. A. E. HUNT'S RECITAL
At the Toivn Hall Concert Chamber last evening the Kev. Archibald E. Hunt, who is well known locally ais an accomplished elocutionist, gave a recital for the benefit of tlio "Our Day" Red Cross appeal and the Blinded Soldiers' and Sailors' Fund. Tlio selections given were all old favourites, but Sir. Hunt contrivc-d to inumit a fresh and lively interest (o them. Tennyson's stirring poem, "Tlio Bevenge," was rendered with all the energy and power that tlio subject demanded, ami the audience was not chary of demonstrating its approval. "The Green Eye of tlio Yellow God," "Not "Understood," and "His First Long Trousers" were given ns musical monologues. A lighter string was touched in "A Night' With a Baby" and "Gladys Mary." The latter number the story of a legacy that would havo been very acceptable Wit for its inclusion of a cat. "The Old Cremona" Mr. Hunt rendered particularly well. The reciter was assisted,by members of the Wclliiigtoii Orphans' Club. Mr. Charles Moore sang "Mate o' Mine"; Mr. 11. Hoschini and Mr. E. ,T. Hume rendered clarinet and 'cello solos resneelively; and Messrs. Thompson, Scammell. Council, and Smith sang ns a quartet "Comrades in Arms." Mr. H. OJodier officiated at the piano throughout the evading. '
