DRIVER- AND HIS HOUSES STILL IN THE WAI?. Driver Frederick Butcher, K.F.A., whoso homo is at Straits Mill, Booking, Essox, has been awarded a silver cup, Ifjin. high, as the only driver in his brigade who has continued through tho war with tho 6a.mo pair of horses. Tho cup was presented to him by tho General in tho presence of tho brigade at a pavado in France. It -was delivered to the winner's mother by Captain Stokes, R.F.A., who had brought it to London to be engraved. "Driver Butcher, who is siill in France with his battery and his horses, went out with the original Expeditionary Force in Aii"»sl, Kill. He drove his horses fhrniHi the retreat from Mons without mishap, although lm hnd ngun blown up behind him, but the harness gave way and the horses were liberated. He has fought through Hie war ever since, and has Inkon :i gun into siiilion continiiouslv with the same pair of horses. Of his (rriginal battery only nine men remain, nil tliP oflicers and Ilie other men having fallen.
