HOUSE 1 AND COUNCIL DISAGREE. The House of Representatives having declined to accept certain amendments made by the Legislative Council ,iir the Sale of Liquor Restriction Bill, a conference of managers'appointed by the l\n Houses was held yesterday. The conference failed to agree on two clauses, iD and 4E. It is understood that the-chief point of. difference was whether or not persons taking meals at hotels before 0 a.m. and after 6 p.m. shall be allowed to have liquor with their meals. The Council proposes "dry" meals.

The consideration of the differences will be continued by another conference on Monday next. : ' ■
