House of Representatives.- yesterday Mr. Malcolm asked the ■ Prime Minister: (1) "Whether it is proposed to hold a sitting of the Imperial Conference or Imperial War Cabinet this year or early next year, and, if eo, what are the Government's intentions in the r'.atter? 12) Is the Government eatis&ed that leading Ministers of the House can. afford to absent themselves to attend such meetings, and, if so, will they wake other arrangements for New Zealand's representation at the above. Imperial meetings? ■ The Eight Hon. W, F. Massey (Prime Minister) replied: (1) No direct communication on the subject has so far been received by the New Zealand Government, but ihe Imperial Government, through the Prime Minister; of Britain, indicated to the House of Commons that an Imperial Cabinet would meet .annually in London. As the first meeting of i a Cabinet, representative of the United Kingdom, the Dominions, and India, was held in April of this year, it way be assumed that the next meeting -.vill be held about the corresponding date in 1918. (2) If the Imperial Cabinet is convened as indicated, arrangements will lie made for New Zealand to be. represented. - • "?• - '.: •
