It is probable that there will be a Union Company's passenger steamer leaving Wellington for Australia at an early date. Intending passengers are requested to make an early application for berths.

Tho Tarawcra will leave Auckland today direct for Wellington, where sjio is due on Monday. She will receive cari?o on Tuesday, and sail at 5 p.m. direct for Dunedin.

The Rosamond should araive here on Sunday with timber from Greymouth. Sho will sail on Tuesday for New Plymouth,

The Mapourika is to leave Gr.cyino-.ith at 10 a.m. to-day for Westport, Kelson, and Wellington, and if the weather is favourable should arrive heii , ! to-morrow afternoon.

The komata. is duo here early this morninp; from Westport, via P4cto.ll. where she discharged some coal for Ulo' railways.

The Kamona is due in port to-night or to-morrow morning from Westport, where she was to have left at midnight last night.

The Karao was held up by weather at Greymouth yesterday. She will be dispatched at midnight to-niKht -with coal for Wellington.

The sale yesterday mornintr delayed both of tho ferry steamers. The Maori arrived in port about her usual time, but it was noarlj two hours before she could berth, and then it was at Ko. 1 (south) Queen's Wharf. The Mararoa encountered tho full blast of the uale, and did not arrive at Lyttelton until noon.

Tho Hinitiuisi will sail at noon to-day for Lyttelton.

Owing to tlio heavy weather yesterday, tho Amokura's departure for Cook Strait and Nelson waa postponed till to-day. The Hazel Kepton armed ftt Greymoutli on Wednesday from Lyttelton, and is expected to sail to-night for Wellington, with a cargo of timber. The Blackball Coal Company's Ngakuta, will for some time he used on tho NewZealand coast, and, after discharging tho balance of her cargo, will sail to-night for Lytielton and Bunediu. Sho will then load coal at Greymouth for Wellington. The Oorinna will arrive here on Thursday from New Plymouth, and will probably sail the same day for southern nerts.

The Calm is due mornins from Wanganui, and after discharging a cargo of cheese will sail direct for Bluff and Suncdin, taking cargo for those ports.

Thy Breeze returned to port last night through stress of weather, and will sail to-day for Wanganui and Lyttelton. From the latter port_,she will come to Wellington.
