Payne, M.A., vicar, oc cupied the chair, and addressed the meeting on the great need for the ito. posed church in the- new district and the necessity of augmenting the building hind, now standing at by a further amount, so that a start could be made with the foundation. Mr. ]I. E. Evans also spoke upon the needs of tho district. Teachers, he said, were required for tho Sunday School, which had increased in the number of attendances. The choir also was in ; oed of helpers. The services of ilio organist, Mr. Clarence Turner, had been greatly appreciated, and much more could be done by him if a, few more members were available for choir work. It was decided to mako a further effort towards increasing the amount of the winding fund by at last .£SOO before Christmas.
The vicar having reappointed Mr. G N. Sturtevant to be his churchwarden, tho following officers wero electid:— J. eonle's churchwarden, H. E. Evaus (reelected); vestrymen, Messrs. H. M. Bannister, ]J. S. Barns, W. Bray, T' a Carter, W. W. do Castro, T. R. L.uv=on,' G. W. Morgan. W. E. Southwick. V. B Willis, and P. E. Wright. During tho evening refreshments were provided by tho Ladies' Guild, and musical items wero rendered by Mrs. and Miss Seed, Messrs. Bray and L,iwson playing the accompaniments.
