WESLEY CHURCH SUNDAY SCHOOL

The Wesley Church Sunday School, Taranaki Street, celebrated its 76th anniversary on Sunday. The attendance at morning and ' ufternoon services was good. In the evening the stewards had difficulty in finding room for all those who came. The morning 6orvice was conducted by the Rev. Archibald E. Hunt, fiom Cambridge Terraco Congregational Church; Chaplain Eanda, from Tren-fh'am Camp, in the afternoon; and in the evening the' pastor of the church, the Rev. J.. G. Chapman, occupied the jjulpit: An appropriate address wa3 de-livered-at enun service. The singing of the scholars was quite up to the usual high standard. The training of the choir was undertaken by Mr. Blundell Strong, assisted by the school organist, Mr. Gardiner, and the sohool pianist, Miss Bolton; all of whom are to be heartily congratulated upon the success of their efforts. Mr. H. Temple White presided at the. organ during the three services, and greatly added to the enjoyment pf singers and congregation by his sympathetic rendering of the music. Hi Sunday School derives its 6ole income from the offerings given on Anniversary Sunday and at the tea and public meeting. The scholars have contributed during the year about .£63, but the whole of this money is devoted to home and foreign missions. The collection from tho three services totalled =£53 2s. 'sd. The tea, pnblic meeting, and children's concert will bo held this evening, when it is hoped to have a good attendance. ■
